Feel the vibe of the Holiday Season by joining
Thaddeus Jame Ford for an incredible evening
entitled, "A Night of Christmas Jazz!"
Mgroup Studio proudly presents Thaddeus James
Ford & Friends for one night only, December 9th.
Thaddeus James Ford is a 6th generation Jazz
Trumpet artist from the hometown of Jazz music -
New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his father
studied the trumpet together at UNO -
The University of New Orleans, under Ellis Marsalis.
After UNO, Thaddeus got an invitation to join the Brass-Hop group Coolbone. He spent 5 years with them performing and recording on an international scale. It was with Coolbone that he aquired his personable stage presence and honed his skill.
As much as he enjoyed the ride with Coolbone, Thaddeus longed to express the music that was in him in a different context. In 2001, he formed his first group, The Continuum. He adapted the name as way to pay homage to his father who passed away in 1999 and also had a band by that name.
Moving to Dallas a few months before Hurricane Katrina, Thaddeus has been a constant on the DFW Jazz club scene appearing at such venues as The Balcony Club and Sambuca.
Thaddeus welcomes Jazz tenor Damon K. Clark and high impact, dynamic violinist Richmond Punch to perform stirring renditions of timeless Holiday classics. Also,
Zoe Ford, Thaddeus' 3 year old
daughter and biggest fan will be
carrying on the family tradition by
performing a holiday dance which
All music will be presented live and consist of Chris Villanueva on keyboards, bassist, Lincoln Apeland guitar and Gerard Bendiks on drums. Other special guests will include Gaika James on trombone; Stephanie Pepping - vocalist; Eric Ferrar - percussionist and Clayton Coblentz on fretless bass.
